Cheryl Moeller is an electrical engineering graduate of the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. She has worked as a product engineer at Honeywell, VTC Inc, and Medtronic Inc. Cheryl became interested in education through volunteering at her childrens’ schools and shifted to an education career in 2004. She has been a science educator at the Bakken Museum and at University of St. Thomas STEPS camp for girls. In her freelance work, she has helped coordinate the 2011 and 2012 Minnesota EduTech Conference, the North Minneapolis STEM Expo for Governor Dayton in 2011, STEM Day at the Fair, and a STEM speakers program for Thomson Reuters. Cheryl became the Executive Director of High Tech Kids in November 2011. High Tech Kids organizes the Minnesota FIRST LEGO League robotic competitions, and the FIRST Tech Challenge competitions. Cheryl is a a member of SWE, Senior Member of IEEE, Minnesota High Tech Association’s K-12 committee, and tweets on #STEM Education @STEMAhead, @cjmoeller and @HighTechKids1.
